Parallels error when Logging in

Sometimes an error will pop up in Parallels that says, "An error occurred while updating. Couldn’t acquire lock, is another instance running?". This means the application has already been opened and trying to open it again will produce this error. This happens when it is opened too many times too quickly. If this error occurs, follows these steps to log in.  

1. Left-click the up arrow on the bottom right hand side of the screen.

2. Right the Parellels icon.

3. Click on Log out all RAS sessions. 

4. Open the application again.
