If a prompt appears on your screen that Parallels needs to be updated, it means there is newer version of Parallels. It is important to update software for many reasons. Installing updates may add new features and remove old ones that are no longer necessary. Here is what to do when a prompt pops up for an update when signing in. If the update has been bypassed and Parallels is giving a sign-in error, follow these steps.
This is the error that will pop up if the update has been closed without performing it. First click OK on the error
1. Right click on Connections in Parallels.
2. Click the log out all RAS sessions option.
3. Click the File tab and click the Exit option.
When opening Parallels again, the prompt to Update will be available. Perform the Update.
Click the UPDATE button.
